This is the Autistic Survival Guide.
It is a place for all people diagnosed with any Autistic Spectrum Disorder to share hints on how you have managed to navigate what is quite often a very unfriendly world. It is also a place where you can pose questions about how to manage a particular situation. Autism is a spectrum disorder. If you ask a question you may get answers from people who are able to perform tasks that you cannot. Please be courteous with your replies and if none of the suggestions would work for you simply repost your question and kindly state that you have not yet received a workable solution for you and would like more suggestions. That is a reciprocal arrangement. If you have answered a person with a suggestion and it is not workable for them and they repost please do not repost that same suggestion. If you have a new suggestion or a modification on your old suggestion then feel free to post that information. We are here to help one another. We cannot do that without first respecting one another. I would ask that parents of Autistic children only post here if you are diagnosed yourself and please restrict your comments to your own personal experiences or you want to share a story about your child who has done something that would be inspirational and uplifting such as a self-advocacy story. We love it when kids have more guts than some of us adults.
